Samsung to extend Galaxy Gear compatibility to more devices

Galaxy Gear was compatible with the Galaxy Note 3 but Samsung has now confirmed the compatibility with eight new devices. We knew Galaxy S4, Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II will support the smartwatch after an Android 4.3 update but Samsung has also added Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, S4 Active, Mega 5.8, Mega 6.3, and S4 zoom to the compatibility roster.

The new devices will support the Galaxy Gear after a software update but it’s unclear if it will upgrade the OS to v4.3.

It seems like most of the Samsung devices from 2012 and newer will get the compatibility update. There was some word that Android 2.2 would come to devices that were not slated for Key Lime Pie in early 2013 as well, so if a Samsung device sees 2.2 this year(except for devices that came with it), then that is probably the end of the road, but if a device sees 4.3, then it will probably see 4.4 as well. This was from the rumors/leaked info posted all over the place in early 2013 btw, so it is still just as much of a rumor now as it was then. Some people may have forgotten it or never heard those rumors. The S2 may still see 4.2 at some point, but will be the final update from some of those same rumors.

Do you mean 4.2 instead of 2.2? :P
