Samsung rolling out Nougat for the Galaxy S7 to some users

Home / News / Samsung rolling out Nougat for the Galaxy S7 to some users

Samsung allowed members of the Galaxy Beta Program to test beta builds of Android 7.0 Nougat for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. The company ended the program late last month and said that it would try and release the update to the public in January. We’ve come across reports that Samsung is rolling out Nougat for the Galaxy S7 to a small number of users, it appears that the company is conducting a soak test ahead of the full-scale rollout.

This particular build bears version number G935FXXU1DPLR and features the January Security Patch. Bear in mind that since Samsung will not be releasing any more beta builds, this might just be the final build that the company will release to the public hopefully in the near future.

Are you one of the lucky few that appear to have been selected for this soak test? Do let us know in the comments below. If you’re interested in finding out about the improvements that Samsung has made in this update check out our What’s New With Nougat series.

It’s just not fair that some user could have test new firmware. It’s almost racist.
It looks like a bad joke from Samsung.
When is going to be available the latest firmware for all other less important people like me?

Why are some of you asking for 7.1.1?
While Nougat in general is relevant because of the main OS-related improvements, almost all 7.1.1. changes are UI related.
But since Samsung is using its own TouchWizz (which is in my opinion superior to Stock Android anyway), it simply does not make any differences between 7.0.0 and 7.1.1, as long as the security patches are rolled out.
It is strange that many people have not got the idea behind TouchWizz after so many years, in particular that it is extending Android.

are u stupid 🙂 ? they promised the stable release would be 7.1.1 but if the version is no bigger different then it not bother me at all_= ) but they sad we gonna rollout the 7.1.1 for s7 edge and s7 :;) so there u are wrong cheers mate 🙂

The is true, But Samsung never say stable Android Nougat 7.1.1 roll out for all countries same version But think if carries (Samsung) has started testing/development Android Nougat 7.0, and are almost finale testing before they roll out finale stable Android Nougat. I don’t believe so carries (Samsung) will start all over again development/testing Android Nougat 7.1.1, carries and Samsung chould roll out first Android Nougat 7.0 then start development/testing Android Nougat 7.1.1. The mean a lot of work do testing/development Android Nougat 7.1.1. And the mean not so much work if Samsung and carries roll out first Android Nougat… Read more »
