More images of Galaxy S8+ prototype with dual-camera setup leak

Images of multiple Galaxy S8+ prototype units were leaked a couple of weeks ago, showcasing a dual-camera setup and a missing fingerprint reader on the devices. Now, clearer images of a similar Galaxy S8+ prototype have surfaced on the Internet.

There doesn’t seem to be a model number mentioned on the device this time around, but it seems similar to the prototype of the Galaxy S8+ which was leaked earlier. You can clearly see two camera sensors, a heart-rate monitor, and a single-LED flash at the back. The UI of the device is similar to that of the Galaxy S8 and S8+. There doesn’t seem to be a fingerprint sensor on the device.

Samsung reportedly poured a lot of money to help Synaptics in developing an on-screen fingerprint reader for the Galaxy S8 and S8+, but the end results weren’t satisfactory enough to be implemented into the devices before their mass production began. If the company successfully embeds a fingerprint sensor into the Galaxy Note 8, it would be a huge step forward for smartphones.

Both the S8 and S8+ have the integrated fingerprint scanner as part of the screen. They’ve also added retina scan to the security fuctions.
Of the two handsets the S8+ is the nicer to use. The dimensions of the S8 seem a bit weird as the screen seems narrow and stretched. Apparently this is so it’s the correct ratio for movies. Personally the hardware differences between the S7 and the S8 don’t really justify an upgrade. Sure the processor is a bit faster and it has more ram, but having put the phone through it’s paces I was unable to really see any performance improvements. To me it’s very much a case of “style over substance”. You can gold plate a turd, but it’s still a turd. I’m not saying the S8 is a bad phone – like the S7 and S7 edge before it, it’s a damn fine phone – but I expected a bit more innovation.

If real ,Sammy is trying to implement finger reader on the display. So no dedicated button, just press your screen and finger is scanned!.

Maybe it’s a Note8….. :)

I’d be happy with that if it was. Looking sexy.

S9 may have the dual camera, bigger memory but that’s over a year away. I m going to be happy with s8 for a year before i upgrade again

Is it just my eyes, or is the outline of the camera window misaligned relative to the phone? And why does the phone not cast a shadow on the hand?

Genuine or fake, who knows, could even be a Note8. But it does look a bit off, could well be a well made photoshop.

they may oif even held back the underscreen fingerprint sensor, JUST so they could release the note8 with something special so the battery issue isnt the highlight !!
and of course buys them time to get that sensor working even better :)
as for dual camera, never understood why they cannot go back to twin camera so they can be used stereoscopic for 3D images as well as !?

No. They didnt held back
S series is main and most innovative for samsung
Note is big brother by specs of s series but innovation like this would come as start only on s series
They do not compromise user experience on s series as it solds around 3-4 times more then notes

So, if the S8 wasn’t revolutionary enough for people (for me it was), the Note 8 not only gets optical fingerprint reader, but also a dual camera setup and 4K display AT LEAST (who knows maybe Samsung will cram something more inside as well)
