The Galaxy Z Flip 2 is due next year and fans already have a long wishlist of features they want to see. Samsung's first clamshell foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip, was very well received. Naturally, the expectations are high for its successor.

Not much is known about Samsung's next foldable smartphone. There's a new rumor out today and it claims that the Galaxy Z Flip 2 display will have support for 120Hz refresh rate. That would be a significant improvement over the Galaxy Z Flip.

Galaxy Z Flip 2 display may support 120Hz refresh rate

Samsung is no stranger to making foldable displays with 120Hz refresh rate support, at least not anymore. The Galaxy Z Fold 2's internal display does support the higher refresh rate. It also happened to be the company's second Ultra-Thin Glass display, a technology that was introduced with the Galaxy Z Flip.

So in many ways, this is perhaps one of the safest rumors about the Galaxy Z Flip 2. @UniverseIce posted about it on Weibo. It's not an outlandish claim and neither is it impossible for Samsung to offer it at the Galaxy Z Flip's price point. He seems to call it the Galaxy Z Flip 3 probably because the Galaxy Z Flip 5G was technically the second clamshell foldable from Samsung.

It's also claimed that the display will have narrower bezels which is something that's always well received. Finally, the source mentions that the next Galaxy Z Flip will be cheaper. If that does turn out to be true, it's going to make a lot of Samsung fans happy.

Samsung isn't expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 2 at its next Unpacked event. That will only be for the Galaxy S21 series. Recent reports have suggested that the new foldable may not be unveiled until Q2 2021.
