Battery charging limit on unsafe Galaxy Note 7 units can be increased to 80%

Despite the Galaxy Note 7 recall, some owners are not bothered to replace their unsafe units. Samsung is trying everything it can to force them to replace their unsafe Galaxy Note 7s with the safe ones. Verizon’s Galaxy Note 7 flashes a warning message if it’s an unsafe unit.

Samsung has also rolled out a software update to limit battery charging on unsafe Note 7 units to 60 percent. However, we’ve noticed that this limit can be increased to 80 percent by turning off the ‘Limit maximum charge to 60%’ toggle. We don’t recommend it, though. Also, Samsung suggests using the Power saving mode to extend battery life since the charging is now limited.

Samsung is not doing everything to replace unsafe galaxy note 7s.I have a galaxy note 7 I bought from someone off Craigslist. And Samsung will not exchange the phone. Also the carrier of the phone is Verizon. They too won’t exchange the phone.

Samsung should just brick them so they are useless

They really should because clearly there are foolish folks trying to find workarounds for a clearly dangerous issue that exposes them to the dangerous system. Note7 users have become complete morons.

Moron is a hard word to say for someone who doesn’t have N7 and who doesn’t live in Croatia and absolutely doesn’t know what is SAMSUNG official statement in Croatia. There are no loan phones, just replacement for new one, when it comes. Also, you can pick refound or S7/S7E change for N7. Here is what you have to know, before you make any judgement-I’m power user of Galaxy NOTE mobile line from the first GN7000, later I had a N4 and now N7. From other SAMSUNG phones I have used S6, and also S7/S7E for couple of weeks and… Read more »

If you have the capacity of intellect, you understand that people have a reason. I replaced my battery myself and its safe now. So, it would be redundant for my device to have this limitation.
