The Galaxy Note 8's Android Pie update started rolling out last Friday in Bulgaria and Slovakia, and it has now reached a number of other countries. Of course, users of the Pie beta had access to the stable update as well, but Samsung has also released the update quickly for those on Android Oreo.

Galaxy Note 8 owners in Iran, Russia, India, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and a few other Asian markets can download Android Pie right away. The release of the second major new OS update for a flagship this quick is quite impressive, and it's equally impressive that Samsung hasn't just limited the release to one or two markets. The Note 8's Pie update is available in more than 10 countries as we write this, and we can expect the rollout to expand more rapidly in the coming days.

To check if the update is available for your phone, you can open the Settings app on your Note 8, tap Software update, then tap Download updates manually. Our firmware database also has the Android Pie firmware files for the countries where the update has been rolled out, and you can use the firmware for your country to upgrade to Pie if it isn't available for you over the air.

Don't forget to check out what's new and improved in Android Pie in our One UI (Android Pie) feature focus series and leave a comment if the update is available in your country (do tell us which country you're in).

One UI 6.1 highlighted one big problem Samsung’s still dealing with

Samsung has made numerous changes to its mobile strategy over the past few years, and I happen to agree with many of the company's more recent decisions. With few exceptions, I like where Samsung's flagship phones and One UI have been heading. However, the latest One UI 6.1 update reminded me that Samsung isn't perfect. […]
