We have been hearing for a few months now that Samsung has developed a new artificial intelligence-powered virtual assistant that it's going to introduce with the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. Previous reports have suggested that this virtual assistant is going to be called Bixby.

Samsung appears to have confirmed the name of its new virtual assistant on its Italian website. The updated privacy information page not only confirms that the artificial intelligence virtual assistant will be called Bixby but also that it will eventually make its way to non-flagship Samsung handsets as well.

Bixby is believed to be more capable than its rivals that include the likes of Siri and Cortana. It may have support for up to 8 languages at launch as well. Samsung will provide more information about all of the features that it offers when the Galaxy S8 is formally announced.

The Galaxy S8 is due to be unveiled at an event in London and New York City on March 29.
