Samsung Group has a very diverse business portfolio already and the companies operating under this umbrella are now looking to discover new avenues of growth, as the consumer electronics and the mobile business particularly face tougher competition in the market. Samsung Electronics said revealed today that it's setting a team that is going to be dedicated to growing its automotive-related business, focusing on technologies like autonomous driving which hold much promise in the future.

In a statement the company has said that this new team is initially going to focus on infotainment and autonomous driving technologies in a bid to boost sales for car-related components, prior to working on other automotive technologies. There are already many companies working on autonomous driving including but not limited to Google and Tesla. Apple is believed to be interested in it as well which is why it makes perfect sense for Samsung to go down this road as well.
