Samsung will officially unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 later this month during the Galaxy Unpacked event. Ahead of the official unveiling, the first set of hands-on images of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 has been leaked. These images showcase the phone's new hinge and the rear camera layout.

Hands-on images of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 were published by tipster Ahmed Qwaider. As you can see in the images above and below, there doesn't seem to be any gap between the two folding halves of the phone, unlike the previous-generation Galaxy Z Fold devices. The phone has a loudspeaker, a USB Type-C port, and a microphone on the bottom. On the top, it has three microphones and a loudspeaker. So, in total, the phone seems to have a stereo loudspeaker setup and four microphones.

There have been rumors about Samsung developing a new, waterdrop-shaped hinge for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5. It could be similar to waterdr0p-shaped hinges found inside new-generation foldable phones from brands like Huawei, OPPO, Vivo, and Xiaomi. It removes the gap between the two folding halves of a phone and reduces the crease on the internal screen.

In the image below, you can see the Galaxy Z Fold 5's rear camera setup. It still has three rear-facing cameras, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 4. However, Samsung has changed the position of the LED flash, which is now placed on the right side of the camera sensors. It is expected that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will have a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

It will come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy processor, 12GB RAM, 256GB/512GB storage, GPS, 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, a USB 3.2 Type-C port, and an IPX7 rating for water resistance. It could have a 4,400mAh battery and 25W fast charging. It also features fast wireless charging, Samsung DeX, and Samsung Pay.
