A lot of Galaxy phones were eligible for Android 14 and One UI 6.0 and pretty much all of them have received that major update, but what about the One UI 6.1 update? Which Samsung phones and tablets will get it and which devices won't?
As of February 13, Samsung hasn't released One UI 6.1 for any device launched before the Galaxy S24 series, so it will be a while before we get an official list of eligible devices. But if history is any guide, almost every Galaxy phone or tablet that got Android 14 and One UI 6.0 will also be eligible for One UI 6.1.
Samsung may skip bringing One UI 6.1 to some budget devices, but in general, even if Android 14 is the last major OS upgrade for your device, expect to get One UI 6.1 as the final One UI update.
Below you can find a list of the phones and tablets that are likely to get One UI 6.1.
Galaxy S series
Galaxy Z series
Galaxy A series
Galaxy M series
Galaxy F series
Galaxy Xcover series
Galaxy Tab series
Keep in mind that the list above is tentative and could change in the future. We will keep updating it as more information comes to light, so be sure to bookmark this page so you can check back later.
One UI 6.1 brings some interesting new features despite being a minor One UI update, such as the option to show the lock screen wallpaper on Always On Display, a combined Quick Share and Nearby Share menu for easier file sharing with Samsung and non-Samsung devices, and more advanced battery protection features.
But the highlights are all the Galaxy AI features, such as auto summarization of texts, websites, and voice recordings, Circle to Search for instant context-aware Google searches by long pressing the home button, advanced photo editing tools such as moving or deleting objects from photos, live translation in phone calls, powerful grammer and spelling checks in messages, writing style assist for chat messages, generative wallpapers, and more.
Samsung has revealed that some of One UI 6.1's features will be limited to select devices. The AI features are only available for flagship phones and tablets launched in 2021 and later, and features like wallpaper support on Always On Display will remain exclusive to the Galaxy S24 lineup.
Samsung started the One UI 6.1 rollout for existing devices on March 28. Flagship phones and tablets from 2023 got the update first, and it was later released for older flagships and some mid-range devices in May 2024. Samsung is aiming to bring One UI 6.1 to most eligible devices in the first half of the year.
Samsung holds a beta program each year for major new Android and One UI upgrades but rarely does it for minor One UI updates. One UI 6.1 isn't as minor as other .1 One UI updates thanks to all the AI functionality, but Samsung chose not to run a beta program for it and directly released the finished update.
