The December 2023 security update is now available for the factory-unlocked versions of the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The update comes with firmware version N98xU1UES6HWK1 and brings the December 2023 security patch that fixes over 75 security flaws found in the previous software version. The update doesn't bring any performance improvements or new features. The update is available on Comcast, US Cellular, and Xfinity Mobile networks in the US.

If you have a Galaxy Note 20 series phone on the networks mentioned above, you can now check for the new update. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update and tap Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually if you have a computer running a version of the Windows operating system and the Odin software.

Samsung introduced the Galaxy Note 20 series in mid-2020 with Android 10 onboard. Both devices in the lineup received three major software updates: Android 11, Android 12, and Android 13. The smartphones are not eligible to get the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update that is rolling out to several Samsung smartphones over the past couple of months.
