Despite first launching in South Korea back in August, Samsung has only just managed to reach an agreement with the region's largest retail firm Shinsegae that'll see its mobile payment platform, Samsung Pay, accepted in all of the company's fifteen nationwide bricks-and-mortar stores. Unfortunately, a specific launch date remains unknown, but an official claims that representatives will be meeting next month to determine a suitable distribution schedule.

The Shinsegae Group also runs a handful of other extremely popular stores in the region, including US coffeehouse chain Starbucks, which would prove to be extremely profitable for Samsung Pay. However, it's believed that in order to have its platform accepted in these additional third-party stores, Samsung will first have to introduce compatibility for SSG Pay, a mobile payment solution run by Shinsegae, both in its physical and online shops.
