Prebooking for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear kicks off in India

Home / News / Prebooking for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear kicks off in India

Folks residing in India, the third-largest smartphone market in the world, can now pre-order the Galaxy Note 3 and its companion smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear. As usual, Samsung is asking for a pre-booking amount – Rs. 2,000 – without revealing the actual prices, and is also offering a combo deal for the two devices. A release date isn’t mentioned, but an end of September launch is likely, with an official announcement event set for September 17th.

The Galaxy Note 3 will likely be priced in the vicinity of Rs. 50,000, though it could be quite a bit less if Samsung decides to be competitive to court more buyers. The Galaxy Gear should be around Rs. 20,000, and the combined package will most likely not have any discounts. As always, if you put down the prebooking amount, you won’t be able to get it back even if you don’t like the final prices, so think twice before placing a pre-order. Oh, and don’t forget to read our hands-on of the Note 3 and Gear here.

Wow, this is complete ripoff. I have never heard any company would charge for preorder without revealing final price.

They do not offer such BS in US or Europe. But they can in India because we and our govt do not care for our self. Here, any company can do whatever they like and our govt will gladly let them do. Warranties do not mean anything here.

I had enough with Samsung, time to move on.
