Hold your horses, One UI 6.0 beta won’t arrive anytime soon

Samsung is preparing a One UI 6.0 beta program for the Galaxy S23 series, at the very least. Galaxy S23 users, and others, will have the opportunity to test the Android 14-based firmware before it goes stable. But regardless of what you may have heard recently, the One UI 6.0 beta update won't go live in June.

Getting information about unreleased mobile products from Twitter is a bit of a gamble nowadays. For every reputable source with a solid track record, there are several self-proclaimed leakers that try to pass uninformed guesswork as reliable leaks. And lately, there's been a lot of buzz around Samsung supposedly preparing the One UI 6.0 beta for a release that should happen in June / very soon. Unfortunately, that's very unlikely to be the case.

A June release for One UI 6.0 beta most likely won't happen

We haven't heard anything to suggest that the One UI 6.0 beta will come out this month. And if it would have come as soon as June, our sources would have let us know. But the reality is that our US-based sources don't have such exciting news to share, despite what you may have heard on Twitter.

The USA is one of the markets in which the One UI 6.0 beta program will eventually go live through the Samsung Members app, and there's no indication that the company is planning a June release.

Last year, Samsung launched the One UI 5.0 beta program for the Galaxy S22 series at the beginning of August. It's much more likely that the Galaxy S23 will get access to the One UI 6.0 beta around the same time this year. Whether it will be earlier than August remains to be seen, but it most likely won't happen in June.

So, here's our fair warning: don't needlessly get your hopes up only to set yourself up for disappointment later. And regardless of whether or not you like Samsung for whichever reasons, it probably wouldn't be fair to hate on the company if an imaginary June release for the One UI 6.0 beta firmware, hyped up on Twitter, won't happen.
