Recently, Samsung released the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update for the Galaxy XCover 5. While it brought several new features and performance improvements, it reportedly broke the camera autofocus, rendering it useless for everyone, which is a huge letdown for users.

Galaxy XCover 5 faces camera issues after Android 14 update

The Galaxy XCover 5 received the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update last week, and it looks like it broke the primary rear camera. Several users are reporting that the autofocus mechanism of the phone's primary camera isn't functioning anymore. One user claimed that they own two Galaxy XCover 5 devices with the same issue.

Since the camera is one of the most used aspects of a smartphone, a faulty camera ruins the overall experience. Some Galaxy XCover 5 users claimed they couldn't make a purchase because the QR code couldn't be scanned. Since the Galaxy XCover 5 is mostly used by businesses, which require scanning barcodes and QR codes, it looks like the phone is now unusable for a majority of customers.

While Samsung hasn't issued a public statement, some users claim that its support team confirmed that it's a software issue and the company is already working on a fix. Bugs like these need to be fixed as soon as possible. Android 14 is the last major Android OS update for the Galaxy XCover 5.
