As Samsung still has quite a few massive distribution partners to keep happy, you can actually get the Galaxy Z Flip 5G at a slightly lower rate from a carrier of your choice or even Best Buy. Speaking of which, Best Buy is actually citing the lowest day-one price at $1,399.
Meanwhile, T-Mobile and AT&T have the Galaxy Z Flip 5G listed at $1,449. Of course, paying for a smartphone upfront defeats one the main advantages of purchasing it from a wireless carrier in the first place and true enough, both carriers are offerring a variety of plans to go alongside this curious-looking device. Verizon is the only remaining game in town (on a federal level) that has yet to get the Galaxy Z Flip 5G in stock and it may be a while until that happens seeing how Samsung is currently focused on bolstering the portfolios of sub-6GHz 5G providers.
In constrast, Verizon's 5G strategy revolves around mmWave frequencies which require some sacrifices in terms of accessibility, even though their performance potential is much greater. With that said, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ chip fueling this new, all-around better model of the Galaxy Z Flip actually supports both. Meaning you should be able to take full advantage of Verizon's next-gen network even with an unlocked Galaxy Z Flip 5G.
