The Galaxy S21 was the first Android smartphone in the world to get the May 2021 security patch. The update was first released in Germany last week and then rolled out to other Asian and European markets. Now, Samsung has released the latest security patch to the Galaxy S21 series in India.

The Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra are now receiving a new software update in India. The update comes with firmware version G991BXXU3AUDA for the Galaxy S21, G996BXXU3AUDA for the Galaxy S21+, and G998BXXU3AUDA for the Galaxy S21 Ultra. The update has a download size of well over 1GB, so we advise you to use a Wi-Fi network to download the update.

The official changelog mentions that the update improves the performance of the camera. It also improves Quick Share and fixes various security vulnerabilities. As usual, the new update comes with bug fixes and stability improvements. Samsung has also mentioned that users won't be able to downgrade to older software once the new update is installed.

If you are a Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, or Galaxy S21 Ultra user in India, you might have received a notification for it already. If you haven't received the update yet, you can check for it manually by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping on Download and install. Alternatively, you can download the appropriate firmware from our firmware section and flash the phone manually.
