Verizon may have exclusivity over the Galaxy S10 5G but it's not one of the carriers selling the Galaxy Fold. Samsung's first foldable smartphone is only available from AT&T and T-Mobile in the United States. This has led many to wonder if the Galaxy Fold will work with Verizon and Sprint?

Samsung doesn't seem to be selling unlocked units at this point in time. So the aforementioned carriers are the only two options available to customers right now. Samsung hasn't said anything about expanding availability to Verizon and Sprint.

Does the Galaxy Fold work with Verizon and Sprint?

The Galaxy Fold will be able to work with Verizon and Sprint even if the unit is purchased from AT&T or T-Mobile. The device should have no problem connecting to their networks unless Samsung actively blocks it.

The folks at Droid-life dug through the FCC listing for the Galaxy Fold and highlighted the fact that the Galaxy Fold is capable of running on all major US carriers. It has full support for Verizon's CDMA and LTE bands as well as Sprint's. This is the kind of network support that we normally see in an unlocked flagship like the Galaxy S10, for example.

This information is of note since Samsung isn't listing band/network support on the US site for the Galaxy Fold. It only mentions that the handset works on AT&T and T-Mobile. Since the devices will be carrier locked, it remains to be seen if they will allow Galaxy Fold owners to use them on rival carriers. Both AT&T and T-Mobile do have unlock policies so it may be possible for users to unlock it and then use the Galaxy Fold on Verizon or Sprint after jumping through a few hoops.

Samsung hasn't said anything about an unlocked Galaxy Fold at this point in time. Given that the phone is already well equipped to run on all four major US carriers, it should be a no-brainer.
