The Galaxy S4 LTE-A was the first smartphone that supported LTE-A networks, with download speeds of up to 150Mbps, and now, reports suggest that the Galaxy S5 Prime will be among the first phones to offer download speeds of up to 225Mbps. According to the Korean media, the Galaxy S5 Prime will feature a Qualcomm MDM9635 multimode modem, which supports Cat 6 LTE and is the first to have been built using a 20nm process. In conjunction with SK Telecom's upcoming LTE-A network in South Korea, the S5 Prime will theoretically be able to achieve the aforementioned download speeds.

We've already seen Qualcomm demo network speeds of up to 300Mbps using a modified version of the Galaxy Note 3 running a Snapdragon 805 CPU (which will also power the Galaxy S5 Prime), but since actual networks don't yet support those speeds, South Korean consumers will have to be content with a maximum speed of 225Mbps, which isn't exactly any less impressive either. However, with most flagship phones expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 805 chip in the second half of this year, such download speeds aren't something only the Galaxy S5 Prime will be able to tout as a feature.
