Galaxy S20 will get these bug fixes with next major software update

Samsung went all out this year with the Galaxy S20 series, equipping the phones with the best hardware, be it the screen, camera, processor, connectivity, or the battery. However, not everything is performing as well as it should, and some reviewers have been complaining of autofocus issues and battery management. The company will reportedly fix these issues with the next major software update.

Max Weinbach, who has been pretty accurate with Galaxy S20 series leaks in the past, has mentioned it on Twitter that the Galaxy S20 phones will get multiple bug fixes with a software update. Some people were experiencing overheating during wireless charging. The camera app was freezing on some units, and the Wi-Fi performance was unstable. Even the battery management wasn’t as good as it should be.

With the next major software update for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra, Samsung will reportedly fix all these issues. However, we still don’t have a timeline for the rollout of the said software update. The autofocus related issue on the Galaxy S20 Ultra was meant to be fixed with the software update that was rolled out recently.

If you are a Galaxy S20 user, have you been facing problems related to battery life, camera app freezing, heat management during wireless charging, and unstable Wi-Fi? Let us know in the comments section below.

Hi guys! Unfortunately those are not the biggest bugs on the new galaxy s20. A lot of people where I’m included are facing reboots on a daily basis. Whether the phone is charging or when in use. It reboots more than 10 times a day. Samsung support team don’t know why this is happening and they are pretending that this is a unique case but on their forum there lots of comments about his. Please expose it so that they are forced to solve it. This is nuts. For this price this cannot happen.

I haven’t used the camera enough to determine how big an issue the autofocus might be. But I have been experiencing unstable Wi-Fi. So a fix for that will be most welcome.

I’m also holding out hope for an update that activates the 120 Hz for WQHD+ resolution. It is in Samsung’s interest to fix l known issues with the S20 line before the next iPhone us announced.

Im from Philippines. Got Samsung s20 ultra last weekend.I notice that though i used 60hz , battery easily drain. Comparing using it with my iphone 11 pro max , was expecting it will last longer than iphone. I hope will fix this asap. Almost PhP70,000 , yet we get this. I have samsung s10 plus yet i don’t have so much issue on that phone.

When S10 Plus first came out, it also had issues that were fixed in due course.

Recently recieved the S20+ 5G (Exynos) here in Sweden. I can indeed confirm the battery issue, where my current phone performs worse in that aspect than the predecessor S10 which I had before. It’s not outruled that it could be due to the 5G-chip of the Exynos, since I have heard from both here and other sources that both the US versions and LTE versions seem to be free from this issue. Furthermore, the heating issue is also prominent on my device. Actually, when writing this text, I can feel the warmth from the display when touching it with the… Read more »

I had overeating on the first two days, but it seems ok now, i did receive the update for the camera.but my camera app freeze only 3 or 4 times.most of the time is fine. The thing i complain most,is night pictures on this device is horrendous, my galaxy note 10+ took better low light pictures then this S20 ultra. i dont feel like i upgrade to a better camera switching from note 10+ to Galaxy S20 ultra. The 30X zoom is not usable ,it looks like a picture from nokia with 0.3megapixels from the past. i’m really really disappointed with… Read more »

I pre-ordered my Ultra and have had no issues. Battery life has been amazing. Hooking up to Verizon 5g had been flawless if I can actually find a spot that has coverage. I’ve taken some of the best pictures I’ve ever taken. I’ve had the S love from Samsung since the S5 and have to say this phone has been the best yet. I love my phone. I don’t have a Qi charger so I can’t comment about the over heating aspect.

The battery life on my S20+ is not even as good as my S10+ even when running at 60PFS 1080p on the S20+. It would be nice if Samsung improved batter life.
Also while running DEX if the phone screen turns off DEX internet stops works. Also in DEX the secondary display cuts out sometimes This is using the Samsung standard DEX hub.

where do i start lol (on s20+ 5G)
-screen in looking greenish at the top esp in 120hz on grey backgrounds
-phone heats up crazy when charging or in 5g mode
-battery is mediocre at best (drops 10% in 1h hour without any use)
-random restarts

great they will fix them via software update but if its going to be in 5 months – many will return their phone and keep s10 – which is almost as good as
the s20 ultra is by far the worst disappointment – and for that money – it really SHOULDN’T

hmm, I have S20+ LTE
– no screen issues
– no overheating, slightly warmer when charging, like any other phones
– battery seems to be very good, 10 hours from midnight until 10am – 4% drop (GPS on, WIFI/Data off), LTE connection
– around 7 hours SOT with Wifi or Data always on
– not a single restart since first boot (6 days ago)

yes because you DONT have the 5G chip which is what is causing so many issues

I own a Galaxy S20 (no 5G), and I also have random restarts.
Apart from that, everything’s fine. Still quite annoying though…
Waiting for an update!

same here. No 5g and more than 10 restarts everyday.
