Report suggests that the Galaxy S8 may sport a 3,250mAh battery

If a new report originating from South Korea is anything to go by, it would appear that Samsung has provided its battery suppliers with an updated production roadmap, which includes 3,250mAh and 3,750mAh cells; leading many to believe that they’re the respective batteries that’ll power the much-anticipated Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus.

While there’s nothing in the way of evidence to support this claim, we’re not going to rule it out entirely as it certainly seems feasible. The Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge sport 3,000mAh and 3,600mAh cells, so it’s only to be expected that Samsung will grace their successors with an incremental capacity upgrade.

As usual, only time will tell. Fortunately, it doesn’t look like we’ll have to wait too much longer to find out more, though. Samsung’s expected to take the wraps off the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus at a dedicated event on March 29, with a worldwide release expected to follow in mid-April.

Since both s8 are edge, Samsung is reducing current S7 Edge battery from 3600 to 3250… :(

Now they have an “infinity display” I’d have thought they would bump up the battery to 3,500mAh and 4,000mAh for the S8 and S8+ respectively. lets hope its heavily optimised with self adjusting screen resolution depending on the content displayed on it.

I think Samsung is trying to minimize the risk after what had happened to the Note 7.

If I remember correctly, the Note 7 was supposed to be fit with ‘only’ 3300 mAh battery presumably because the iris scanner and the S-Pen took a lot of space. But, it seems a little bit small, so they they take a big risk with a ‘procedure that never been done before’ in order to increase the Note 7 battery to 3500 mAh.

But truth be told, a 3750 mAh couple with the power-efficient SD 835 would not be as much of a battery drainer as we think.

The N7 was rumoured to have 4.000 mAh, later 3.600 so the 3.500 was already quite disappointing.

I rather have the phone a mm thicker to expand on battery capacity.

But the 3750mah will be for the big 6.2inch version.the 3250mah will bd for the normal one which has a 5.8 inch screen, bigger than the s7edge which has a 3600mah battery.

I think the minus 50mAh could be for added battery space
