Alleged Samsung Galaxy S6 unibody frame glimpsed in the wild

We’ve mostly only heard or seen the Galaxy S6 in its virtual form up until now. Today, alleged pictures of the next-gen Galaxy flagship’s metal unibody frame showed up, giving us a glimpse at how the Galaxy S6 would be in the flesh. After being criticized for its not-up-to-scratch plastic built phones, Samsung has taken a fresh approach as designing phones. The Galaxy A3 and A5, among others, are only testimony to the approach; you can expect more and more Samsung phones to adopt metal bodies in the coming years. Folks at NoWhereElse managed to get their hands on the metal chassis of the next in line Galaxy S series front-runner, and the pictures are here for you to make your respective judgements.

Of course, the authenticity of these leaks can’t be verified, and thus you’re advised to take the info with a pinch of salt, or spice of your choice. Meanwhile, if you aren’t aware, the Galaxy S6 also landed on Indian shores earlier today, for ‘R&D purposes’.

A lack of good information someone on Sammobile seem to have fun wasting time with various contents. These pictures have nothing with the Galaxy S6 to do.

who knows if and when Google got the OS near perfect to iOS, Apple won’t even have a prayer but playing shitty sueing game that Sam can just pay them in coins! Frankly Apple is stuck. What else could they other than invent a floating mobile devices.

Metal frame without unibody? Why does it have to be in one piece? If Sam would have unibody with fixed SD card and battery, they should have a 64 or 128 Gb internal memory and a very high capacity battery. So far I love the design of A3 A5 and future A7 and Note 4. Apple will be jealous and very much in dire straight with the market because Sam is heading correct.

“Figurez vous qu’un nouveau bruit de couloirs propagé par les gars de chez HDBlog suggère que le prochain fleuron Samsung serait assemblé dans un boitier U N I B O D Y qui, contrairement au châssis des modèles cités plus haut, ne ferait pas simplement office de cadre mais recouvrirait entièrement le dos de l’appareil…”

As usual, from a “some Samsung smartphone” of the source of nowherelse site, we arrive here at “alleged” S6 photo with “unibody”.

I speak french fluently, unibody is written or supposed nowhere in the article.

Source of nowherelse said, it’s for a “future Samsung smartphone”, the author suggested S6 to him then he said “maybe” without being sure.

And if you stay reasonable, it’s only a frame which is visible, looks very much like to Alpha’s frame and Alpha isn’t “unibody”.

*sigh*

False alarm. That’s the enclosure of an external HDD. Look at the placing of the screws. Why people don’t even try to see the images?

If they get rid of removable battery and sd card for some material that my luxurious coke can is made of then they may as well stop producing smartphones before Christmas.

And yet, Samsung use and has used for a long time, magnesium frames, etc. And why do we continually hear about “plastic” when the materials are polycarbonates? The charges that Samsung phones are shoddy or inferior materials have been proved false time and time again. It’s all been a smear campaign clearly orchestrated by Apple, Microsoft, etc, who are clearly terrified of Samsung. And the sheep of the world believe it. If the S6 eschews a removeable battery and sd card for “unibody” I too will look elsewhere for my next phone. The only thing that needs changing is the… Read more »

Just to clarify: Do you mean “chargers” or did you mean the battery? I admit Samsung need some work on the battery front. I’m seeing a lot of swollen batteries – and not limited to GALAXY S4 either! I currently own an S5, and I’ve had no issues with charging or the battery since its release. I only hope this will carry on with all the newer devices in 2015. As for Samsung’s build quality, it’s INCREDIBLY frustrating when people are critiquing if it’s “plastic” or not (as you said, IT’S POLYCARBONATE, people! AAAH!). *Ahem*… But when Samsung finally DO… Read more »

Yes, Samsung please do not make it without removable battery and MicroSD, these are two of the best features of Samsung’s smartphones.
