The October 2023 update released by Samsung for the Galaxy S21 series a few days ago, on the 12th, appears to be causing issues for Xumm Wallet users. The @XummSupport X (formerly Twitter) account confirmed the problem through a post earlier today and offered some solutions.
Xumm is a non-custodial wallet for the XRP Ledger, offering ways to interact with the XRP Ledger as well as 3rd party tools.
According to Xumm Support, the October 2023 security patch rolling out for the Galaxy S21 series “damages the Xumm Wallet secure data store.” As a result, the Xumm Wallet app won't open.

How to avoid the Xumm Wallet problem
Xumm Support explains that Galaxy device users should make sure they have their secret code before installing the October 2023 update, “as you may have to remove Xumm, re-install Xumm & Import your account with your secret key again” once you have the update installed.
The company also says that if you have a Xumm Tangem card, you can import the card again. And if you have written down your Secret Numbers, you can import them again.
Finally, Xumm advises anyone who is unsure if they have their Secret to rekey their accounts before installing the firmware update from Samsung.
Samsung started rolling out the October 2023 update for the Galaxy S21 series in the USA last week.
