One of the most controversial features announced by Microsoft in recent times is Recall. It is an AI-powered search engine that can browse through all that you have done on your PC and find things for you. The feature can now be used by Galaxy Book 4 Edge and Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 users.

Microsoft is now rolling out the Recall feature in preview. It means that people with computers that have the Microsoft Copilot Plus certification can use the Recall feature by opting in to use it in the preview phase. They can opt-in by becoming a Windows Insider user in the Dev Channel.

Recall was announced in May 2024, but it wasn't released due to the controversy surrounding it. This feature takes screenshots of almost everything you do on your PC to help you find what you were working on previously. It uses AI to match your query with matching results from the captured screenshots.

You can now use that feature if you have a Galaxy Book 4 Edge or the Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360. The Galaxy Book 4 Edge features the Snapdragon X Elite processor, while the Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 uses Intel's Lunar Lake (Core Ultra 7 258V) processor. Both chips have 40 TOPS or more AI performance.

How has Microsoft improved upon Recall's privacy and security issues?

You can either search for things through a query in natural language or use the timeline element at the top to skip the relevant part. You can find apps, websites, or files that you were using at a particular time in the past.

Since its announcement, Microsoft has worked on some privacy and security-related issues in Recall so that hackers can't use those screenshots to find sensitive information (like credit card numbers, PIN, or passwords) about you.

Microsoft has confirmed that Recall won't upload any screenshots to the web. You can also stop Recall from taking screenshots of certain apps or websites.
