The Galaxy S10 series, sans the 5G model, was demoted from monthly to quarterly security patches back in April. The 5G variant was left behind because it was released a couple of months after the 4G variants. But time doesn’t wait for anyone, and the 5G model is now following the rest of the series.

Moving forward, the Galaxy S10 5G will receive security patches every three months. As of this writing, the S10 5G benefits from the May 2022 security patch in select markets, which means it will probably receive its next security update around August.

A handful of budget Galaxy phones got demoted to a biannual release schedule

In addition to the Galaxy S10 5G, a few other cheaper Galaxy phones have been downgraded to biannual security updates. They are the Galaxy M01, Galaxy A41, and Galaxy A51 5G.

These devices will now get security patches every six months. At present, the Galaxy M01, Galaxy A41, and Galaxy A51 5G run on the April 2022 security update. Their next patch should roll out later in the second half of 2022.
