The Galaxy Note 20 series is expected to be unveiled in Q3 of 2020, but exciting information about the phone has started leaking already. It has been previously reported that the next Galaxy Note series could feature a slightly improved Exynos processor and a more energy-efficient 120Hz screen. Now, it is being rumored that the phone will lack a controversial camera feature that debuted with the Galaxy S20 series.

According to information from Ice Universe (@UniverseIce on Twitter), the Galaxy Note 20 series will no longer feature the 100x Space Zoom feature that is present in the Galaxy S20 Ultra. Samsung had hyped up the hybrid zoom feature during the launch of the Galaxy S20 series, but experts and reviewers found it barely useable as it lacked in quality. It looks like the South Korean firm isn't happy with the reception of the 100x Space Zoom feature.

It is still not clear if Samsung is just dropping the hybrid zoom feature or scrapping the periscope 3.5x optical zoom lens unit altogether. However, it is being rumored that the South Korean smartphone giant will keep using the 108MP ISOCELL Bright HM1 camera sensor in the Galaxy Note 20+. It will also come with an additional sensor to assist in focusing. It could be a laser autofocus system that is present in other smartphones like the OnePlus 8 Pro and could solve focusing issues that were found in the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

The Galaxy Note 20 series is rumored to feature larger LTPO Super AMOLED Infinity-O displays with a 120Hz refresh rate, Exynos 992 SoC, 16GB of RAM in all variants, Qualcomm's second-generation 3D Sonic fingerprint reader, and slightly higher capacity batteries. Samsung may also ditch the 3D ToF camera sensor for the Galaxy Note 20. The company unveiled a new 50MP camera sensor yesterday, but it will likely not be used in any Galaxy Note 20 series phone.
