Every year, Google releases a major Android OS upgrade. Samsung does the same and uses Google's new OS version as a platform for a fresh One UI update. And like clockwork, for the second half of 2023, we expect a handful of Galaxy phones to get Android 14 and One UI 6.0.

If you want to stay on top of Android 14 news concerning Galaxy phones, this article should help you track which Samsung phones will get the update and when.

We're keeping track of the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S23 lineups, eligible Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip foldable phones, and the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A54.

We will update the article regularly as soon as more Android 14 One UI 6.0 information comes out for each device, so you might want to bookmark it if you wish to follow along.

Galaxy S23 series Android 14 One UI 6.0 update

May 9, 2023: Evidence found on Samsung's servers indicates that the company is already testing One UI 6.0 internally on the Galaxy S23 series.

May 30, 2023: Although the Galaxy S23 series should be the first to join the upcoming Android 14 One UI 6.0 beta program, Samsung hasn't revealed any dates yet. Judging by the company's One UI 5.0 beta schedule for the Galaxy S22 series last year, the Galaxy S23 trio could enter public One UI 6.0 beta testing in early August. The first stable Android 14 build for the Galaxy S23 may go live in October.

June 6, 2023: A tipster on Twitter said Samsung is very likely to open the One UI 6.0 beta for the Galaxy S23 in mid-July, with the stable build possibly going live in October.

June 12, 2023: A rumor says the first One UI 6.0 beta for the Galaxy S23 series will roll out as soon as Android 14 goes stable.

June 16, 2023: We exclusively reported that the Galaxy S23 series should enter the One UI 6.0 beta stages in the 3rd week of July.

June 30, 2023: The first Galaxy S23 One UI 6.0 firmware details emerged. Samsung started testing the Android 14-based update through an internal test build carrying firmware version S918USQU1ZWFA.

July 15, 2023: Another test One UI 6.0 firmware for the Galaxy S23 was spotted on Samsung's servers. This one carried firmware version S918NKSU2ZWG6.

July 19, 2023: A new One UI 6.0 test firmware was spotted on Samsung's servers, carrying a firmware version ending in “ZWGA.” The letter “A” indicates a big change in the build identifier, which could mean Samsung is getting very close to releasing the first public beta build.

August 11, 2023: Samsung released the first One UI 6.0 beta firmware for the Galaxy S23. The program was launched in select markets and gradually expanded to a few more regions.

August 15, 2023: Samsung rolled out a new One UI 6.0 beta firmware for Galaxy S23 users who participate in the beta program. This release was meant to fix one critical bug found in the original beta build.

August 31, 2023: Just as we approached the end of August, Samsung started rolling out the One UI 6.0 beta 2 firmware for the Galaxy S23 series, putting the rumors of a delay at rest. The 2nd beta not only rolled in a relatively timely manner, but with this release, Samsung also expanded availability to more countries. Galaxy S23 users in India, Poland, and the UK can now participate in the One UI 6.0 beta program.

September 7: Another beta update for the Galaxy S23 briefly rolled out in select markets. It appears to have been an accidental release, and Samsung pulled the plug quickly. Some believed this was an accidental release of Beta 3.

Galaxy S22 series Android 14 One UI 6.0 update

May 30, 2023: Because the Galaxy S21 series entered the One UI 5.0 beta program in August last year, there are reasons to believe that, this year, the Galaxy S22 series could receive its first One UI 6.0 beta update in August. As for the stable build, the Galaxy S22 could get Android 14 publicly in November 2023.

June 27, 2023: Samsung appears to be testing Android 14 and One UI 6.0 for the Galaxy S22 series in the USA. The first internal test firmware carries version S908USQU2DWF1.

August 19, 2023: More proof that Samsung is testing One UI 6.0 for the Galaxy S22 series emerged from Samsung's internal test servers. The new internal update has firmware version S908BXXU6ZWHE.

August 19, 2023: In addition to a newer test firmware popping up on Samsung's servers, the One UI 6.0 beta pages also went live on the company's Community forums.

Galaxy S21 series Android 14 One UI 6.0 update

Galaxy S21, S21+, S21 Ultra, and S21 FE owners can follow Samsung's progress with the update on our dedicated Galaxy S21 tracker page here.

    Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 Android 14 One UI 6.0 update

As disappointing as it may sound, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 will not run One UI 6.0 out of the box despite their late July launch/early August release. They will instead be running Android 13 and One UI 5.1.1, though they are likely to be among the first few devices to get the Android 14 update.

August 18, 2023: The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 beta program could start in the week of September 18.

    Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 Android 14 One UI 6.0 update

May 9, 2023: Firmware information found on Samsung's servers suggests that the company was testing One UI 6.0 internally on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 as early as the second week of May.

May 30, 2023: Similar to last year's One UI 5.0 beta release schedule for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 series, the newer Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 might enter the One UI 6.0 beta testing phase in October. Both phones could get the stable One UI 6.0 beta update in November.

June 27, 2023: Similar to the Galaxy S22 series, on June 27, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 in the USA was discovered to run Android 14 test firmware internally.

    Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 Android 14 One UI 6.0 update

May 30, 2023: Once again, there's no official confirmation as to when older Samsung foldable flip phones might get the next major OS upgrade. But because the original Galaxy Z Flip 5G and the Z Fold 2 entered One UI 5.0 beta testing in October 2022, chances are Samsung will start testing the sequels, i.e., the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 with One UI 6.0 beta in October this year. They may also exit the beta phase and receive the Android 14 update in November.

Galaxy A-series Android 14 One UI 6.0 update

May 30, 2023: If anything, update schedules for mid-range Galaxy A phones are even more uncertain. For example, surprisingly enough, the Galaxy A52 was invited to the One UI 5.0 beta program as early as September 2022. The phone then received the stable Android 13 update in November. Following this logic, the Galaxy A53 may join the upcoming One UI 6.0 beta this year near the end of autumn and get the stable update in November. We're hoping that the newer Galaxy A54 won't be excluded from One UI 6.0 beta testing, but time will tell.

Update: Not only has the Galaxy A54 been invited to One UI 6.0 beta testing, but the Galaxy A34 got the same treatment.

July 18, 2023: One UI 6.0 test builds have been spotted on Samsung's servers for the Galaxy A34 and the Galaxy A52s. Android 14 might be the last big update for the Galaxy A52s.

September 8, 2023: The Galaxy A54 has been invited to a One UI 6.0 beta testing program in South Korea.

September 10, 2023: The One UI 6.0 beta program for the Galaxy A54 kicked off in the UK.

September 11, 2023: Shortly after the Galaxy A54, Samsung also added the Galaxy A34 to the One UI 6.0 beta program in the UK.
