Samsung introduced the world’s first 200MP camera sensor for smartphones—ISOCELL HP1—in September 2021. Nine months later, it announced another 200MP camera sensor: ISOCELL HP3. So far, the two 200MP camera sensors from Samsung have been used by Xiaomi, Motorola, and Infinix in their high-end phones. According to leaked information, Realme is also set to opt for Samsung’s 200MP camera sensor for its smartphones.

Realme 11 Pro+ uses Samsung's 200MP camera sensor

Realme is working on a new smartphone dubbed the Realme 11 Pro+, and on Sunday, the phone’s full specifications were listed on TENAA, a Chinese smartphone certification platform. According to the leaked spec sheet, the Realme 11 Pro+ will have a 200MP camera sensor as its primary rear-facing camera. Considering that only Samsung makes 200MP camera sensors for smartphones at the moment, it is safe to assume that the Realme 11 Pro+ uses Samsung’s camera sensor, most likely the ISOCELL HP3.

The 200MP primary camera on the Realme 11 Pro+ will be mated to 8MP and 2MP cameras. Other specifications include a 6.7-inch AMOLED 120Hz display, up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, and a 4,870mAh battery capacity. The Realme 11 Pro+ will come as a successor to the Realme 10 Pro, and considering its price, the Realme 11 Pro+ could be priced at around INR 25,000 (around $300). It could be the most affordable smartphone with a 200MP camera.

With every new iteration of a smartphone, manufacturers not only have to improve the performance of the smartphone (especially that of the camera) but also show bigger numbers in the specifications sheet, and Samsung’s 200MP cameras offer these brands exactly what they need. No wonder the popularity of Samsung’s 200MP cameras is only increasing day by day.
