Earlier this year, Samsung introduced the Galaxy S24 series with several new features. Some of those features are now coming to more phones and even other device categories. Enhanced Bluetooth Auracast compatibility debuted with the Galaxy S24, and that feature is coming to older phones soon. Samsung is also bringing 360 Audio to its high-end smart TVs. The Auto Switch feature for Galaxy Buds is also coming to Samsung's laptops for the first time.

Galaxy Buds work better with Interpreter mode

Samsung has announced that Galaxy Buds will get new features when paired with the company's laptops, smartphones, tablets, and TVs. The Interpreter mode on the Galaxy S24 now works with the Galaxy Buds. It means when you're using Galaxy Buds while using the Interpreter mode, you will hear the voice of the other person in your Galaxy Buds, while the other person will hear your voice through the Galaxy smartphone's or tablet's loudspeaker. This eliminates the need for the phone to be passed between you and the other person. You can also swap the order of speech during the ongoing conversation by just tapping the Galaxy Buds.

Galaxy phones can create Bluetooth Auracast-based audio casts for nearby devices

With One UI 5.1.1, Samsung introduced support for Bluetooth Auracast on its smartphones, tablets, and TVs. However, you could only join audio casts created by others when using Galaxy smartphones or tablets, while the ability to create audio casts was limited to Samsung's high-end smart TVs. With the Galaxy S24 series and One UI 6.1, Samsung added the ability to create wireless audio casts for all compatible devices nearby. This new capability will be released to the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Z Fold 5 with a software update.

Previously, Samsung's 360 Audio feature only worked when the Galaxy Buds were paired with its laptops, smartphones, and tablets. Now, the feature also works when Galaxy Buds are paired with Samsung's new high-end smart TVs. This feature only works on the Galaxy Buds 2 and the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, and when they are paired with Neo QLED 4K TVs (QN85D, QN87D, QN90D, and QN9D), Neo QLED 8K TVs (QN800D and QN900D), OLED TVs (S85D, S90D, and S95D), and QLED TVs (Q70D and Q80D) released in 2024.

The Auto Switch feature for Galaxy Buds works with Samsung's smartphones, tablets, and TVs. With the latest update, the Auto Switch feature also works with Galaxy Book 4 series laptops. So, when you are watching a movie on your laptop and audio is coming from the Galaxy Buds, and a call comes to your Galaxy smartphone, the Galaxy Buds will automatically switch their connection from the Galaxy Book laptop to your smartphone. Once the call ends, the Galaxy Buds will automatically connect back to your laptop.

This feature only works on the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and requires phones and tablets running One UI 4.1.1 (or newer), Galaxy Book laptops running the Samsung Settings v6.0 (or newer) app, and Galaxy Watch 4 (or newer) Wear OS smartwatches. The Auto Switch feature on Samsung TVs for Galaxy Buds only works while making and receiving phone calls.
