This is another hint that the Oreo update could soon hit unlocked models of the S8 and S8+, and a pretty big one at that, as carriers usually begin testing a major upgrade after development on the base software has been completed by the device manufacturer. Of course, we could just be reading too much into the whole thing, but that's not hard to do when anticipation for the Oreo update is at an all-time high. Not to mention Samsung had previously said it is trying to release Oreo for the S8 and S8+ by the end of January, even though it later changed its tune to remove mention of an ETA.
Coming back to T-Mobile, the carrier has updated its support pages for the two phones to say that Android 8.0 Oreo is under testing. As expected, that's all the support pages say at the moment, and there is no telling when North American carriers will start updating the S8 and S8+ to Oreo. It also remains to be seen which carrier will be the first to do so. While you're waiting, don't forget to check out how you can prepare your phone for Oreo, and also see everything the new version of Android brings to Samsung's devices.
