Silicon-carbon batteries may be limited to some Galaxy S27 series models

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra became Samsung's first phones to feature silicon-carbon anode batteries. Similar higher-capacity batteries are reportedly coming to the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra. However, you should not get your hopes up for the other Galaxy S27 series phones.

According to tipster Lanzuk (@yeux1122), Samsung is testing silicon-carbon anode batteries for the Galaxy S27 series but has not decided whether to bring the technology to every model or limit it to the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra. The decision reportedly comes down to the higher cost of the newer battery technology.

As a result, the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ may not receive bigger batteries than their predecessors.

RAM and storage chip prices have risen drastically over the past two years, substantially increasing the manufacturing costs of consumer electronics, including smartphones. So, even if Samsung wants to bring silicon-carbon batteries to the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+, higher costs could prevent it from doing so.

The Galaxy S27 is rumored to feature a 6.3-inch display, while the Galaxy S27+ is expected to have a 6.7-inch screen. Both phones could use the 2nm Exynos 2700 processor and feature 12GB of RAM, at least 256GB of storage, a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a telephoto camera.
