What do you think Samsung should be focusing on right now?

Things aren’t going too well for our favorite Korean firm. Samsung worked on its foldable phone for years, only to not test it properly in the real world and having to delay its commercial launch just a few days before it was supposed to go on sale. The company’s profits have dropped considerably, its flagship phones are being challenged by competing flagships with better cameras (especially in low-light capabilities), and its in-house mobile chipset has been left behind by the competition as well. Then there’s the fact that the Galaxy S10 comes with the same fast charging speeds that we’ve seen on Galaxy phones for five years at this point.

Of course, Samsung has also gotten better at some things. The most notable is in the field of software updates. Samsung has released Android Pie for a lot of phones in just the first four months of the year, much faster than it had released any previous major Android OS upgrade. It’s pushing out security updates more regularly, and it is also extending the support period for security updates for some old devices. Last but not the least, Samsung has launched some excellent value-for-money budget and mid-range smartphones, such as the Galaxy M20 and the Galaxy A50.

But people often tend to remember the bad instead of the good. Samsung has had quite a few troubles this year, and it will have to work quickly to come back from those troubles and take the lead once again. Samsung is a big corporation so it can work on multiple things at the same time, but if you were to select one thing the Korean giant should work on, what would it be?

Customer support.

it is pathetic.

the thing Samsung need to work on is customer expectations. By that I mean educate people in the way business works.

I get so fed up of people complaining that the phone they bought 18 months ago does not have the latest software that is on the current flagship. Timely security updates, yes, OS updates yes, but don’t expect your s9 to have the same software as the s11…

Coming from the Pixel 2 XL, I really think they could improve the camera (indoors and night time, also the selfie bcause I hate How skins looks way smoother) and Software, they need to make it smoother/Fluid. I have the S10e, It is FAST but still not as fluid and smooth as the Pixel and even the iPhone. It does matteerr for us coming from the Pixel and the iPhone.

I believe they should focus on the camera. Everything else is great. They should catch up with the likes of Huawei in areas like zoom, night photo. They should catch up with Apple in regards to video recording, processing and HDR photos. They released the S10 which is a good phone, but it has nothing, absolutely nothing that says WOW. Apple managed to surprise its customers with the iPhone X. Samsung ? We’ll just give them a shinier S9. Ohhh, dump that Bixby garbage. Bright night ? More like bright night does almost nothing to a photo. And give us… Read more »

I believe Samsung should lead the way to improve and hardness of phone screens, working toward unbreakable screens or at least real tougher than what is on today industry.

comes in the second place a longer live phone battery.

1. Upgrade the zooming options
2. Increase the exposure time in pro mode shooting

Probably an unpopular opinion: but since they’re CONSTANTLY pushing Bixby… They SERIOUSLY need to improve it. They’ve gone with it. They need to commit to making it better than ANYTHING else on the market. Otherwise. Remove it from everything and stick to GA

Battery life and releasing software quickly, when some companies release the latest firmware within a month or two, we have to wait nearly a year to get the latest firmware.

What will come first Android Q for S10 or the S11 launch

1. It should stop flooding the market with soooo many unnecessary mid range phones with basically the same specs. 2. It should focus more on the front facing camera indoors especially with artificial light at night. 3. It should stop trying to appeal to iPhone users more than long time Samsung fans (camera UI cough, cough) 4. It should stop removing useful features like swapping on the text message app to make phone calls only to bring useless features like “direction lock” And last but not the least and I know I’ll get a lot of heat for this one.… Read more »

And one related to my number 5 before. Please, Samsung DON’T put the pill shaped cutout on Note 10. Leave that gorgeous rumoured 6.75inch display completely clean. Take a look at the front of the recently announced Meizu 16S. If Meizu could do it c’mon Samsung you can do it and even better.

3 things – One UI, Camera and Bixby. Bixby should become what it was on SDC
Better UI for one handed use, bring back swipes, bring back cool camera interface, better night mode. And better optimisation for Exynos version

OnePlus updated the 3T to Android Pie. S7 is the best selling smartphone from Sammy and until now they didn’t updated it to Pie and OneUI they’re lagging behind on customer fidelity. They also need to keep improving OneUI making it lighter because I’m experiencing stutters on my S8 as well.

That’s not good. That’s definitely something they should address. It’s completely up to date in my region, can’t understand why you’re still waiting, particularly for unlocked.

In my experience the UK rarely gets monthly security patches. Or if it does, it receives them a month late. So when they’re updating Germany’s to June. May would only just be arriving… 😒

I picked camera just to choose something. Honestly though I don’t have any complaints about my Note9, my wife has no complaints about her Samsung phone, everything is pretty spot on. In the past I probably would have chosen software but One UI is fantastic and they did start to get the software right a couple of years ago anyway. If I wasn’t an experienced pro mode user on the camera I might complain about not having a great night mode quick setting, but as I have a setting myself that knocks the socks off other brands night mode, I… Read more »

Thanks for the question! Ok, it wouldbe difficult to do it here as it can depend very much on the conditions around you. You might have street lights, moonlight, dusk or dawn light or very little light where you are photographing a distant lit object in relative darkness so I would be writing an essay here. So, here’s the best advice. I can’t post a link here but on YouTube find “How to take great low light pictures on a Note 8” by Cubamus Prime. (This will be fine for other Samsung phones as the principles of low light shots… Read more »
