Samsung’s now rolling out One UI 5.0 for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite

Samsung’s tablets don’t usually get as much attention as Galaxy smartphones when it comes to firmware updates, but this year’s been a little bit different. The Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S8 lineups have already received One UI 5.0, and Samsung is now crossing another device off its update roadmap. The company has started rolling out Android 13 and One UI 5.0 for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite.

Or more specifically, Samsung has released One UI 5.0 for the 2022 refresh of the Tab S6 Lite LTE, carrying model number SM-P619. The update is identified by firmware version P619XXU1BVK6 and includes the November 2022 security patch. As of this writing, the update is available in France, but Samsung will likely bring the firmware to more European countries sooner rather than later.

Faster UI, better productivity and multitasking

Once they update to One UI 5.0, Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022) users should notice a boost in performance, a slightly redesigned settings app, a new lock screen customization menu, better background app management, and other minor improvements across the board. They also get access to new multi-window gestures that make multitasking a joy.

At the moment, Android 13 is available only for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite LTE (2022), but the Wi-Fi model (SM-P613) should receive the same treatment. Likewise, even though the 2022 refresh shipped with Android 12, One UI 5.0 should also become available for the original Tab S6 Lite models (SM-P610 / SM-P615) released in 2020. The latter shipped with Android 10, and it’s become clear that the 2022 refresh has a higher priority in Samsung’s One UI 5.0 rollout plans.

You should be able to update the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite LTE (2022) to Android 13 by opening the Settings app, accessing “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.” If you prefer manual updates through a PC, you can download the official firmware files from our website.
