Galaxy S27 Ultra camera could solve two major issues seen on Samsung phones

The launch of the Galaxy S27 series is still four months away, but most details about the lineup's phones have already leaked. While the Galaxy S27 Ultra's basic camera configuration surfaced months ago, finer details are now emerging, revealing the improvements we can expect in Samsung's next flagship phone.

Tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) claims the Galaxy S27 Ultra uses the ISOCELL HP6. It is a 1/1.3-inch 200MP camera sensor and is a modified version of the existing ISOCELL HPC sensor.

The phone also reportedly features a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and an F2.9 aperture, alongside a 50MP ultrawide lens. They are all placed in a rectangular camera bar, as leaked recently.

Thanks to the newer sensor and an improved image processing pipeline, the Galaxy S27 Ultra offers warmer color tones compared to the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

The camera will also reportedly offer much better control over highlights, meaning the borders and details of tiny bright objects in a scene will no longer look blown out. This improvement reportedly applies to both the primary and telephoto cameras.

Samsung has also seemingly managed to reduce noise in darker areas of a scene and in low-light conditions. As a result, images appear cleaner and smoother, especially in the shadows.

It remains unclear whether the South Korean firm has solved the biggest issue plaguing Samsung smartphone cameras: motion blur. Currently, capturing moving subjects on Galaxy devices often results in blurry photos, a problem that affects pictures of children and pets.

We hope Samsung addresses both the motion blur and noise issues across its entire upcoming lineup, including the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, Galaxy S27 Pro, and Galaxy S27 Ultra.
