Every year since 2017, Samsung has launched a Galaxy S+ series phone, making the upcoming Galaxy S27+ the eleventh device in the lineup. It will be positioned higher than the vanilla Galaxy S27 but below the Galaxy S27 Pro.
Based on reports and rumors, here is what we currently know about its features and specifications.
The Galaxy S27+ will feature a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with QHD+ resolution, mirroring its predecessor. The display utilizes an LTPO OLED panel that can dynamically scale its refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz depending on the content. It will also support HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG formats.
The phone will likely use an Armor Aluminum frame sandwiched between front and rear Gorilla Glass panels. Additionally, it will feature an IP68 rating for robust dust and water resistance.
For biometric authentication, the device includes an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint reader. On the audio front, it comes equipped with stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos support.
The handset is expected to feature a 12MP front-facing camera, alongside a triple-camera setup on the rear: a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP telephoto camera with a 3x optical zoom lens. Both the primary and telephoto cameras will include OIS and autofocus, while the selfie camera will feature autofocus alone.
The Galaxy S27+ can record 4K 60fps HDR videos using all its onboard cameras, and up to 8K 30fps HDR videos using its rear array. The device will also natively support capturing and displaying images and videos in Super HDR.
Samsung is expected to equip the Galaxy S27+ with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro for Galaxy processor in China and North America. In other global markets, the phone will likely ship with the Exynos 2700 chip, developed in-house by Samsung's System LSI division.
The phone is rumored to include 12GB of RAM and will likely be offered in 256GB and 512GB storage variants.
Other hardware features include GNSS, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, UWB, and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port. It will also support Quick Share (with cross-platform compatibility), Samsung Pay, and Wireless DeX.
A 4,900mAh battery could power the device, supporting 45W fast wired charging. Thanks to the integration of the Qi2.2 standard, it is also expected to support up to 20W fast wireless charging.
The Galaxy S27+ is expected to run Android 17-based One UI 9.0 software straight out of the box. Following Samsung's current policy, it will receive major operating system upgrades and security patches for up to seven years from its launch date.
Bixby, Gemini, and Perplexity will be built-in, alongside a variety of new AI-powered tools that will form the core of the Galaxy AI suite.
While Samsung has not officially unveiled the Galaxy S27+ yet, the company's historical track record suggests an official launch in January or February 2027. The device will likely become available for pre-order on launch day in select markets, hitting retail shelves a couple of weeks later.
The phone could be priced starting at $1,100 for the 256GB version, which is an estimation based on the pricing strategy of the Galaxy S26+. It will likely debut in four standard colors alongside a few online-exclusive variants.
