The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ launch today
After waiting for what felt like an eternity, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have finally launched. Although, Samsung’s claiming the handsets are only available in four markets — Canada, Korea, Puerto Rico and the United States — but that’s not technically true, as customers all over the globe started receiving pre-orders as early as Wednesday.

For those in need of a refresher, the Galaxy S8 sports a 5.8-inch Infinity Display, an Exynos 8895/Snapdragon 835 processor, a 12MP rear-facing camera, an 8MP selfie shooter and a 3,000mAh battery. The Galaxy S8+, on the other hand, packs almost identical internals, with the main differences being it has a larger 6.2-inch screen and a 3,500mAh cell.

Dont buy the unlocked one from samsung…it will never get updated…just like the S7 unlocked.
Have my Galaxy S8 plus on pre-order and ordered Thin Fit from Spigen a week ago as they ship internationally. Idea was to receive Spigen case by the time S8 plus arrives. They had two shipping options, DHL with 2 days delivery indication and USPS with no delivery estimation. So I paid $13 for shipping by USPS. After one week tracking stuck and keeps showing the package is in LA, Canada (Canada?!) . So I contacted Spigen for update and reply was that shipping will take 4-7 weeks. Good news!
But most of the customers who pre-ordered from Samsung website directly have lots of problems. My order was “cancelled” today at 4AM. Wonderful news to wake up to!!
Its still “Preparing Order for Shipment” according to Samsung website. Two different operators from Samsung Support told me two different things.
Kind of surprised that this issue was not a “news” in Sammobile.
I also preordered on the Samsung site and although they didn’t cancel my order they also didn’t ship me my S8+ either. My order also shows the status “Preparing Order for Shipment”. Strangely the site states that my $100.00 ecard you got when ordering the S8 as being DELIVERED even though I have not received it. I’m a little depressed over this turn of events. I emailed their customer support regarding all of this and I am anxiously awaiting their reply.
