Four days ago, Samsung released the October 2022 security update to the Galaxy S20 FE 5G. The update is now being released to the smartphone's 4G LTE variant with the Snapdragon 865 processor. The other devices in the Galaxy S20 lineup are yet to get this new update.

The latest software update for the Galaxy S20 FE (SM-G780G) has been released in Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines. It comes with firmware version G780GXXU3CVI4 and brings the October 2022 security patch that fixes over four dozen security vulnerabilities. The update might also include general bug fixes and stability improvements.

If you are a Galaxy S20 FE 4G user in any of the countries mentioned above, you can download the new update and install it now. You can do that by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.

The Galaxy S20 FE's Snapdragon 4G version was launched in limited markets in 2021 due to the chip shortage. The device made its debut with Android 11 onboard. It received the Android 12-based One UI 4 update earlier this year. It then received the One UI 4.1 update as well.
