A new research report has revealed that the Galaxy S22 Ultra is the best-selling model of Samsung's latest flagship series. It could be selling even more units if only Samsung could just make more of them.
A Wave7 Research survey has revealed that the Galaxy S22 Ultra was Samsung's top-seller in February at wireless carrier stores in the US. 69% of the sales reps surveyed said that demand for the Galaxy S22 series as a whole is higher than it was last year for the Galaxy S21 lineup.
The report adds that the Galaxy S22 Ultra has sold the most units out of this new lineup. The base Galaxy S22 is the second best-seller while the Galaxy S22+ is in third place. It's also observed that there would be higher sales if the “tight supply” issues were resolved. “In-store supply has been questionable,” the report adds.
Samsung's supply issues with the new phones have been well documented. Even during the pre-order period the estimated delivery dates rapidly stretched weeks in the future. Global supply chain challenges are undoubtedly impacting Samsung's ability to sell its latest phones.
There have also been reports that Samsung's yields for the 4nm chips used in these phones are horrible. That's putting further pressure on a supply chain that's already stretched. So it's difficult to say when these supply issues may be resolved.
