Samsung is bringing the One UI 5.1 firmware update to more Galaxy tablets. And now, not to be outdone by the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite (which received the Android 13-based update this week), the Galaxy Tab A8 (2022) is hopping on the bandwagon and is getting massive improvements through Samsung’s most recent version of One UI.

The One UI 5.1 update is now available for the Galaxy Tab A8 rocking model number SM-X200. For now, the update appears to be limited to South Korea. It has firmware version X200XXU2CWC1 and doesn’t come with a new security patch, but the one corresponding to January 2023.

Big changes are coming to the Galaxy Tab A8 with One UI 5.1

Samsung’s One UI 5.1 is a pretty big deal, even though, technically, it’s just an incremental upgrade designed to improve some aspects of One UI 5.0. But Samsung went all-in on One UI 5.1, and even the Galaxy Tab A8 now benefits from numerous new and improved features.

The official changelog, which you can check out in full in the screenshots below (machine translated from Korean), mentions Camera and Gallery improvements, better multitasking through the simplified split screen and pop-up view features, changes to the Weather app, a new battery level widget, Samsung Internet webpage continuity when switching between devices, and more.

Available only in Korea as of this writing, the update should reach more markets eventually. Where it is available, Galaxy Tab A8 (2022) users should be able to download One UI 5.1 by accessing the Settings app, navigating to “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.”

SamMobile readers that want to install new updates manually over a Windows PC can download official firmware files from our website.
