The Galaxy A30 is on its way to receiving Android 11 / One UI 3.1; this much has been certain for nearly a year now. Development is underway and new evidence reveals that Samsung is already testing the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 firmware update for the Galaxy A30, all the while it's gathering approvals ahead of release.
The Galaxy A30, model number SM-A305F/DS, was recently spotted in the Wi-Fi Alliance database by one of our readers and members of our Telegram community. Of course, the device has been in the WFA database for a few years now, but the latest entry — dated May 5 — is different because it confirms that the phone is running Android 11, as seen in the screenshot below.
Samsung's original plan for the Galaxy A30 was to update the device with One UI 3.0 in July 2021, at least in Egypt. However, the upcoming update will most likely be based on One UI 3.1 instead of version 3.0, and it could arrive earlier than July, seeing how a few Galaxy devices that were listed on the original roadmap have been updated ahead of time.
Samsung had recently downgraded the Galaxy A30 from quarterly to biannual security updates, though the device did receive the April 2021 security patch a couple of weeks ago.
Thanks for the tip, Amin!
