Samsung said today that its Galaxy S9 promotion centers in South Korea have attracted more than 1.5 million visitors in five days. The company is now heavily promoting the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ after unveiling the new flagship in Barcelona on February 25. The company has set up several Galaxy S9 promotion centers across its home country of South Korea to promote the new handset.

Galaxy S9 promotion centers are called Galaxy Studios

Samsung is calling these Galaxy S9 promotion centers “Galaxy Studios” and it has set up them in major places throughout South Korea after unveiling the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ in Barcelona late last month.

Visitors at these centers can get hands-on with the Galaxy S9 and try out several new features such as the variable aperture camera, Super Slow-motion video and more. They can even create their own AR Emoji with the Galaxy S9 display units provided at these centers to try out this fun new feature.

Samsung and its carrier partners have already started taking pre-orders for the new flagship smartphone in South Korea and pre-orders will continue through Thursday. The Galaxy S9 will be released in South Korea on March 16.

A recent report out of the country suggested that the Galaxy S9 pre-orders came in below expectations but it merits mentioning here that the report gave very early figures from the day that pre-orders were opened. It's possible that the number could have picked up in the past few days. Samsung is yet to confirm pre-order figures for the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ in South Korea or any other market for that matter.

For its part, the company predicts that the Galaxy S9 sales will outperform those of its predecessor, the much-loved Galaxy S8. The company has previously said that the response from the market for its new flagship has been much better than anticipated. Many market watchers are certainly very interested in finding whether or not this claim will turn out to be accurate.
