Now that Samsung has released all its high-end phones for 2022, the focus has switched to the Galaxy S23 series, the company's next-generation high-end smartphone lineup. All three phones in the series are expected to bring iterative upgrades rather than disruptive features.

It is widely reported that Samsung will equip the Galaxy S23 Ultra with a 200MP primary camera. Now, more details regarding the phone's camera quality have been reported. According to tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce), Samsung is using a higher quality 200MP camera sensor, and the company has hugely improved its image processing algorithms. The tipster claims that the Galaxy S23 Ultra can capture substantially better images and videos than the Galaxy S22 Ultra in low-light conditions.

It is being reported that the Galaxy S23 Ultra brings the biggest improvement in camera performance in the past five years (since the Galaxy S10). Samsung has released three 200MP camera sensors over the past year, but the Galaxy S23 Ultra reportedly uses an entirely different 200MP sensor for the primary camera. It is still unclear if the sensor is bigger or if there are other forms of improvements.

If this report is accurate, the Galaxy S23 Ultra can easily defeat most other competing high-end smartphones with its camera quality. The phone is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, 12GB RAM, 256GB/512GB/1TB storage, and a 5,000mAh battery. It also features a 200MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, two 10MP telephoto cameras (3x and 10x zoom), and a 40MP selfie camera with OIS.
