The Galaxy S23 Ultra has quickly become the talk of the town as all the major smartphone releases for this year are done. Intel about specifications and the design of the upcoming flagship Galaxy phone is pouring in from all directions. It is pretty evident from all the tips and rumors that Samsung will use the 200MP camera for the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

A few weeks ago, it was tipped that the 200MP ISOCELL camera sensor has a 1/1.3-inch camera sensor size. This would allow more light to come in and would result in better details in photos. However, it seems like Google is also working on a flagship phone with a 1-inch camera sensor.

According to developer Kuba Wojciechowski, who delved into the source code for the Pixel 7 series, Google is working on another Pixel 7 series phone, codenamed Lynx, which could be released as the Pixel 7 Ultra.

Pixel 7 Ultra could join the 1-inch camera sensor bandwagon

The alleged Pixel 7 Ultra could come with Qualcomm's Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth chip (WCN6740) instead of the Broadcom BCM4389 found in the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 lineups. If this is correct, it will enhance wireless connectivity performance on the Pixel 7 Ultra.

Kuba added that the Pixel 7 Ultra would feature Sony's IMX712 sensor, which is under 1 inch in size. Contrary to this, popular tipster Ice Universe reveals that this phone will come with a 1-inch sensor. If Ice Universe's words are true, then this could go up against the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

This won't be anything new, though, in the world of Android smartphones, as there are a few phones, such as the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, that already feature a 1-inch camera sensor. It remains to be seen when Google will launch the Pixel 7 Ultra and if they are actually working on any such phone.
