Exynos or Snapdragon? Galaxy S27 Pro’s chipset may have leaked

Samsung is expected to launch four Galaxy S27 series phones early next year. The Galaxy S27 Pro could be the newest addition to the lineup, and it is rumored to be a relatively compact phone with Galaxy S27 Ultra-like features, including a large battery and a capable telephoto camera. However, it could use an Exynos chip in most markets.

A report from the South Korean publication Money Today claims that Samsung wants to increase the share of Exynos chips used in its smartphones. As a result, the company has reportedly decided to equip the Galaxy S27 Pro with the unannounced Exynos 2700 processor in most markets. This chip is expected to power units sold everywhere except North America.

So, Galaxy S27 Pro phones sold in Asia (including South Korea and India), Australia, Europe (including the UK), Africa, and Latin America will reportedly use the Exynos 2700, while those sold in Canada, Mexico, and the US are expected to feature a Snapdragon processor.

The Exynos 2700 is reportedly Samsung’s second-generation 2nm mobile processor. It is designed by Samsung Electronics’ System LSI division and will be manufactured by Samsung Foundry using its second-generation 2nm process node (SF2P).

The upcoming chip is also rumored to use a Side-by-Side (SBS) package design that places the application processor and DRAM side by side, with both covered by a heat dissipation material called the Heat Path Block (HPB).

The Galaxy S27 and the Galaxy S27+ are also expected to use the Exynos 2700 in most countries, while the Galaxy S27 Ultra could remain the only model in the lineup to use a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor globally.
