With a firmware version ending in CXB5, the latest Galaxy Tab S8, S8+, and S8 Ultra update is available in several Asian countries for both the Wi-Fi and 5G variants of all three models, and it shouldn't be long before the new update goes live in more countries around the globe.
As we already mentioned, you're only getting security enhancements with the update. It includes the February 2024 security patch, which fixes 72 vulnerabilities affecting Android and Samsung's custom software that runs on all Galaxy phones and tablets. Three of those vulnerabilities are considered critical, while the rest carry a high or moderate risk tag.
Samsung has already released the March 2024 security patch for some devices, but since Galaxy tablets get security updates once every three months, the Galaxy Tab S8 lineup may miss out on the March patch and get a newer one a couple of months down the line. That's unless the March patch is included in the One UI 6.1 update, which is expected to roll out to some devices later this month.
To download the February update on your Tab S8, S8+, or S8 Ultra, open the tablet's Settings app, select Software update, and tap Download and install. Alternatively, download the latest firmware from our archive and install it on the tablet using Samsung's Odin tool on a Windows PC.
