Galaxy S20 FE gets February 2024 security update in North America and South America

The new security update for the Galaxy S20 FE has arrived in all Latin American countries with firmware version G780GXXS8EXA6. The Galaxy S20 FE 5G is also getting a new security update, and it has arrived on the carrier-locked variant of the phone in the US. It comes bearing firmware version G781USQSEHXA1. Both variants of the phone now have access to the February 2024 security patch in those regions, and the new patch fixes 72 security vulnerabilities discovered in the previous software version.

The new update doesn't bring any new features or performance improvements. If you have a Galaxy S20 FE in Latin America or the Galaxy S20 FE 5G in the US, you can check for the new software update on your device. To do that, navigate to Settings » Software update » Download and install. Alternatively, you can grab the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.

Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 FE in mid-2020 with Android 1o onboard. The device received the Android 11 update in late 2020, the Android 12 update in late 2021, and the Android 13 update in late 2022. The phone didn't get access to the Android 14 update that was rolled out to more recent Galaxy phones.

If you want to use Android 14-based One UI 6.0, which brings dozens of new features, you can upgrade from your Galaxy S20 FE to the Galaxy S23 FE. You can find its review in our video below.
