Last month, Samsung rolled out the June 2023 security patch to multiple variants of the Galaxy A71 5G. However, the Verizon-specific model of the device in the US (SM-A716V) was left out. Today, the company is rolling out last month's security update to this device as well. Along with it, Samsung is pushing the June 2023 security update to the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite running on Verizon's network (SM-T227U).

The latest software update for the Galaxy A71 5G UW bumps the firmware version to A716VSQU7GWE2, and that for the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite carries build number T227USQU6CWF1. The new firmware brings June 2023 security patch, which fixes more than 60 security issues. These new updates don't bring any new features or improvements to performance. The brand had recently downgraded the security status of the tablet from quarterly to biannual updates.

Typically, Samsung’s mobile devices automatically notify users about the latest update. But if you haven’t received the alert, you can check for the new firmware by going to Settings » Software updates and clicking on Download and install.

The Galaxy A71 5G was launched in July 2020 with Android 10 (One UI 2.1) onboard. As promised, Samsung has offered the phone three new versions of Android, and it is currently running Android 13 (One UI 5.1). That means it will not get the Android 14 (One UI 6.0) update.

The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite was released in May 2021 with Android 11 (One UI 3.1). Currently, it is running on Android 13 (One UI 5.1). The device is expected to get the next version of Android when it arrives later this year.
