Earlier this month, Samsung had started rolling out the July 2021 security update to the international variants of the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. Last week, the unlocked variants of the smartphones received the update. The company has now started rolling out the latest security patch to the carrier-locked variants of the Galaxy Note 20 series.
The carrier-locked variants of the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra have started getting a new software update in the US. The new update is currently available on Comcast and Xfinity Mobile's networks, but more carriers will get the update within the next few days. The update with firmware version N98xUSQU2DUF2 brings the July 2021 security patch. It fixes more than 20 vulnerabilities related to user privacy and data security.
If you are a Galaxy Note 20 or Galaxy Note 20 Ultra user on any of the carrier networks mentioned above, you can either wait for the OTA update to arrive automatically or check for it manually. To download the latest update manually, navigate to Settings » Software update and tap on Download and install. You can also download the latest firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually.
The Galaxy Note 20 series was launched in the second half of 2020, and the phones came with Android 10-based One UI 2.5 out of the box. The smartphones received the Android 11-based One UI 3 update in December 2020 and the One UI 3.1 update a few months ago. The smartphones are on Samsung's monthly security update schedule.
