Samsung had originally planned to launch the Galaxy S21 FE alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in August. However, it was recently revealed that the Galaxy S21 FE launch was postponed to Q4 of 2021. Now, it is being reported that the company might not launch the smartphone in some key markets.

According to an exclusive report from FNNews, Samsung is considering launching the Galaxy S21 FE in October 2021, and the launch could be limited to Europe and the US. It means that the smartphone might not make it to Africa, Asia (including South Korea), Australia, Canada, and South America. The reason behind this limited launch is attributed to the ongoing global chip shortage.

The Galaxy S21 FE reportedly uses the 5nm Snapdragon 888 processor, and Samsung is unable to acquire enough chips to make it a worldwide launch. Industry insiders also claim that the chip shortage is so severe that the South Korean firm might ship fewer units of the Galaxy S21 FE to Europe and the US than it had initially planned.

According to previous reports, the Galaxy S21 FE features a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with a 120Hz refresh rate and in-display fingerprint reader. The phone has 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB internal storage. It has a 32MP selfie camera and a 12MP triple-camera setup at the rear. It could also feature stereo speakers, an IP67/68 certification, and Samsung Pay.

It could run Android 11 with One UI 3.1.1 out of the box. The phone's connectivity features could include 5G, LTE, GPS, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. A 4,500mAh battery powers the phone, and it supports 25W fast wired charging, 15W fast wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.
