Samsung has announced that the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy S20 smartphones have received the accessibility certification from Spain-based NGO Fundación ONCE (the ONCE Foundation). The Amovil seal is offered by Fundación ONCE in collaboration with universal accessibility consultancy ILUNION Tecnología y Accesibilidad to commercially available smartphones that meet universal accessibility standards.

The South Korean tech giant is the first smartphone brand to receive the ONCE Foundation’s seal of accessibility. This means that the Galaxy Note 10 Lite, Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy Note 10+, Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra meet universal accessibility standards. These Samsung smartphones are easier to use for people who have disabilities.

Samsung says that these certifications are a result of its close collaboration with the ONCE Foundation. The Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy S20 smartphones offer accessibility features for people with moderate and severe manipulation difficulties, difficulty seeing colors, speech difficulties, zero and partial hearing, and zero and partial vision. They also include comprehensive accessibility menu to find the features that users are looking for.

Two months ago, the company released three Bixby Vision-powered accessibility features: Color Detector, Quick Reader, and Scene Describer. These features help users with disabilities to easily access features through minimal interaction with the smartphone and navigate in the real world.

Alfonso Fernández, Head of Marketing, Corporate Communication, and Institutional Relations at Samsung Electronics Iberia, said, “We are very proud to be the first to receive the ONCE Foundation seal of accessibility, which is another sign of our efforts to make all our products accessible to as many people as possible.
